Refund Policy
Table of Contents
Effective Date: July 27, 2025
At Computeman, Inc., we strive to provide reliable and high-performance Virtual Private Servers (VPS), Dedicated Servers, and GPU Servers. We stand behind our services and want you to be completely satisfied. This policy outlines the terms for refunds applicable to these services.
General Philosophy
- Customer Satisfaction: We aim for fair treatment and customer satisfaction.
- Fraud & Abuse Prevention: Refunds cannot be used to facilitate fraud, circumvent payment, or abuse resources or our network.
- Resource Consumption: Once server resources are allocated and used, they cannot be “returned” like physical goods.
Refund Eligibility by Service Type
Virtual Private Servers (VPS)
- New Accounts / First VPS: Eligible for a full refund within 48 hours (2 days) of the initial signup and provisioning if the service has experienced significant, verifiable downtime attributable to Computeman’s infrastructure or network preventing basic functionality and you have opened a support ticket documenting the issue during this period. Standard configuration or setup issues do not qualify.
- Hourly/Metered Billing: No refunds are provided for partial hours or days consumed. You pay only for the time the server was active.
- Monthly/Annual Prepaid Plans: Refunds are not available after the initial 48-hour period mentioned above for new accounts, as resources are continuously allocated and consumed. You may cancel at any time, but prepaid amounts for unused full months beyond the initial period are non-refundable.
Dedicated Servers
- New Accounts / First Server: Eligible for a full refund within 72 hours (3 days) of the initial server provisioning only if the server experiences significant, verifiable hardware failure or network downtime attributable solely to Computeman preventing its use and you have opened a support ticket during this period. Standard configuration, OS issues, or software problems do not qualify.
- Existing Customers / Subsequent Servers: Not eligible for the initial 72-hour refund guarantee.
- Monthly/Annual Prepaid Plans: After the initial 72-hour period (if applicable), no refunds are provided for prepaid terms. You may cancel at any time; cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing cycle, and no further charges will be incurred. Prepaid amounts for unused full months are non-refundable. Prorated refunds for partial months are not offered.
GPU Servers
- New Accounts / First GPU Server: Eligible for a full refund within 72 hours (3 days) of initial provisioning only if there is significant, verifiable failure of the GPU hardware itself or core Computeman infrastructure/network preventing GPU functionality and you have opened a support ticket during this period. Driver issues, software incompatibility, or underperformance relative to specific benchmarks generally do not qualify.
- Existing Customers / Subsequent GPU Servers: Not eligible for the initial 72-hour refund guarantee.
- Monthly/Annual Prepaid Plans: After the initial 72-hour period (if applicable), no refunds are provided for prepaid terms. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle. Prepaid amounts for unused full months are non-refundable. Prorated refunds for partial months are not offered.
Universal Non-Refundable Items & Situations
- Service Usage: Any usage of the server (CPU, RAM, Disk I/O, Bandwidth, GPU time) beyond the initial qualifying period negates refund eligibility for that period.
- Account Credits: Refunds are issued to the original payment method whenever possible. Account credits are generally non-refundable.
- Setup Fees: Any one-time setup or installation fees are non-refundable.
- Domain Name Registrations/Transfers: These are third-party services and are non-refundable once processed.
- Licensing Fees: Fees for specific software licenses (e.g., cPanel, Windows OS, specific commercial software) paid on your behalf are non-refundable.
- Bandwidth Overage Charges: These are non-refundable.
- Fraudulent Activity: Accounts suspended or terminated for violation of Computeman’s Terms of Service (TOS) or Acceptable Use Policy (AUP), including but not limited to spam, hacking, DDoS, phishing, or payment fraud, forfeit all rights to refunds.
- Payment Disputes (Chargebacks): Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute automatically voids any refund eligibility and will result in immediate service suspension/termination and potential account closure. Administrative fees may apply to reinstate service.
- Cryptocurrency Payments: Refunds for cryptocurrency payments will be issued in the equivalent USD value at the time of the refund, minus any transaction fees incurred by Computeman.
- Free Trials/Promotional Periods: Services provided during free trials or promotional periods are not eligible for refunds.
- Custom Configurations: Servers built to specific, non-standard hardware configurations requested by the customer are non-refundable after provisioning.
- Failure to Meet Specific Performance Benchmarks: Unless covered under a specific Service Level Agreement (SLA) with defined financial penalties, failure to meet subjective or unguaranteed performance levels does not qualify for a refund.
How to Request a Refund (If Eligible)
- Refund requests: Must be submitted within the applicable initial guarantee period (48 hours for VPS, 72 hours for Dedicated/GPU) via a support ticket through the Computeman Client Area, clearly stating the reason and providing relevant support ticket numbers documenting the issue during that period. Refund requests submitted after the guarantee period or not meeting the criteria will be denied.
- Refund Processing:
Approved refunds will be processed within 5-10 business days to the original payment method used. Refunds to credit/debit cards or PayPal may appear faster. Bank transfers may take longer. Computeman is not responsible for delays caused by payment processors or financial institutions. - Cancellation:
You may cancel your service at any time via the Client Area to prevent future billing. Cancellation does not automatically entitle you to a refund for any prepaid, unused time beyond the initial guarantee period, as outlined above. - Policy Updates:
Computeman, Inc. reserves the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting the revised policy on our website. It is your responsibility to review this policy periodically.
Contact: For questions regarding this policy, please contact our Billing Department through the support ticket system in your Client Area.
Key Points Emphasized
Service-Specific Initial Guarantees: Differentiated periods (48h VPS, 72h Dedicated/GPU) focused on infrastructure failure.
Usage Negates Refund: Clear that using the service beyond basics during the initial period voids the refund.
No Proration: Explicitly states no refunds for unused prepaid months after the initial guarantee period for monthly/annual plans.
Non-Refundables: Comprehensive list covering setup, licenses, domains, overages, fraud, chargebacks, crypto, trials, custom configs, and subjective performance.
Process: Requires ticket submission within the period with documented issues.
Clarity on Cancellation vs. Refund: Separates stopping future billing from getting money back for unused prepaid time.
